The ultimate goal of The Community Powerhouse program is that students would remain in school and on track to achieving their High School Diploma while also obtaining the appropriate mindset, discipline, job skills and certifications to secure legal and gainful employment or attend college.

Together We Can Spark Hope, Ignite Optimism & Create The Currents For a Brighter Future for primarily African-American males identified within our local high schools as those who could benefit from additional support, mentorship, motivation and life-skills training to propel them towards their destiny of graduating high school.

OUR SERVICES
What Makes Us Different

Programs designed to Empower, Engage, Enrich and assist in fostering positive change in the lives of at-risk male youth and systematic change within the institutions, organizations and systems serving them.

Intervention
Our Intervention Department has shaped and empowered the minds & literacy skills of three hundred eighty (380) males.
Prevention
Our Prevention Department has shaped and empowered the minds & literacy skills of eighty-eight (98) males.
Literacy Empowerment
Conducted (50,137) hours of literacy skills training and Contributed (2,669) hours towards Adult Education programming.
Computer Training
Provided (2,530) hours of computer based training through the Cycles/Learning 100 & Read On software programs.
Job Skills
Students focus on the appropriate mindset, discipline, job skills and certifications to secure legal and gainful employment.
Leadership Skills
Managing change effectively is a source of competitive advantage, yet few organizations do it well.

OUR STRATEGY
Why Should You Choose Us ?

The Community Powerhouse strives to “Spark hope, ignite optimism and create the currents for a brighter future” for predominately at-risk African-American male youth and young adults.

The Community Powerhouse program offers literacy and education, instruction, career exploration and technology training in one of Lancaster County’s highest poverty areas.

Works with for primarily African-American males ages 16 – 24 who have dropped out of high school or been expelled due to behavioral, academic or social issues.

The projected outcomes are improvement in reading levels, math, computer and problem solving skills; improvement in English proficiency, job skills & work behavior training, leadership and social skills; budgeting and basic financial skills. The ultimate goal of the program is that students would return to either high school or Adult Education to earn their G.E.D. or High School Diploma or obtain the appropriate mindset, discipline, job skills and certifications to secure legal and gainful employment or attend college.
