Prevention Model
The mission and goals of the Powerhouse are accomplished through weekly Empowerment Sessions which work to build and improve a participant’s literacy, critical thinking, workplace literacy, soft skills and computer skills. Empowerment sessions are held (3) days per week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.).

Intervention Model
Empowerment sessions are held during the school day (5) days per week at the following schools.

South Middle School

Contact Your Child’s Guidance Counselor to Enroll
Tuesdays & Thursdays are days set aside for individual counseling, job coaching, assisting with completing individual job applications, interview preparation and case management.

85 students graduated with a high school diploma or GED

Enduring Results

Program has significantly decreased the amount of criminal and risky behaviors of 866 male youth of all ethnicities in Lancaster County

Program has received over 1.7 million in funding from grants, corporate and individual funding

Passion for Our Youth

What We Believe

The projected outcomes of our programs involve improvement in reading levels, math, computer and problem solving skills; improvement in English proficiency, job skills & work behavior training, leadership and social skills; budgeting and basic financial skills. The ultimate goal of the program is that students would return to either high school or Adult Education to earn their G.E.D. or High School Diploma or obtain the appropriate mindset, discipline, job skills and certifications to secure legal and gainful employment or attend college.
