The Community Powerhouse Youth E3xchange

A component designed to Empower, Engage, Enrich and assist in fostering positive change in the lives of at-risk male youth and systematic change within the institutions, organizations and systems serving them.

This division offers workshops, seminars & consultations to entities seeking to strengthen and improve their work with at-risk male youth.

Saving and Endangered Species; The Black Male

Workshop Objective: Designed to empower, engage and educate while providing the tools, techniques and information that will assist individuals, institutions and organizations who work with or are seeking to work with black males (particularly those who may be deemed at-risk) in understanding the complex issues and needs associated with serving
and assisting this population.

Participants will be introduced to the Community Powerhouse program model, design and methodology and the collaborative approach that the Lancaster County School District used to reach, save & empower at-risk Black males in its local high school.

Proven Community Powerhouse techniques, strategies and lessons learned will be shared to assist participants in identifying daily baggage associated with at-risk Black males and youth in despair.

 

Identifying & Unloading the Excess Baggage

Workshop Objective: An energetic, innovative and engaging workshop that uses poetry, dialogue and discussion to assist individuals working with at-risk youth in identifying the daily baggage associated with at-risk youth. Participants will be introduced to the Powerhouse Bag Chart and the process used in aiding young men in identifying the baggage in their lives which hinders their academic and social success.

 

Lessons Every Young Leader Must Learn

Workshop Objective: An energetic, fast-paced workshop using poetry, dialogue, team building exercises and proven Powerhouse formulas to aid youth in making decisions that will enable them to achieve their goals, dreams and life ambitions.

 

Before You Approach: Know Who You Are Approaching

Workshop Objective: To foster an environment of thinking and sharing of ideas, strategies and experiences gained from our 11 years of working with at-risk African-American males that will enable participants to return to their organizations with a broader perspective of how to approach, engage, enrich and empower the youth involved in their substance abuse programs. Participants will examine & identify the baggage and challenges that many youth bring to the work that we are called to do.

 

Does Male Presence Matter: Can A Mother Be Both Father and Mother

Workshop Objective: To engage participants in a thought-provoking conversation regarding the importance of having a positive and consistent father figure in the life of male youth. Participants will gain the understanding of the importance of positive male presence in the lives of at-risk male youth; the need to provide at-risk youth with a positive male or female role model; the pains & outcomes associated with unaddressed “Daddy Wounds” and how a lack of a positive male presence effects the decision making of at-risk male youth.

 

Bringing Hope to a Hopeless Population

Workshop Objective: To seek to understand individuals who are in despair and crisis. Assist participants in identifying daily baggage associated with youth in despair. Share proven Community Powerhouse techniques, strategies and lessons learned that will assist participants in bringing hope to those who feel hopeless.

 

Do You Really Want to Know Me: Strategies for Engaging, Enriching & Empowering At-Risk Youth

Workshop Objective: Collectively gather and share ideas, experiences, strategies & lessons learned that will enhance program design and effectiveness while enabling participants to return to their organizations with a fresher perspective of how to engage, enrich and empower at-risk youth.

 

Discovering the Leader in You

Workshop Objective: Participants will examine what leadership is and be introduced to 12 leadership characteristics while discovering what it means to be a leader. Participants will be challenged to embrace the call and urgency to lead.

 

Becoming the Man God Wants Me to Be

Workshop Objective: To provide men with information, tools & resources that will equip & enable them to be the men
God has called & created them to be.

 

Avoiding the Trap’s

Workshop Objective: To improve the quality of life of youth by providing knowledge, insight and tools that will enable them to improve their ability to avoid the traps set for them by the enemy in order to make Godly & righteous decisions.
